Welcome to Prospective Members from the IALEP President

Dear Prospective IALEP Member,

On behalf of the Executive Board, I warmly welcome you to the most valuable professional affiliation the Law Enforcement Planner can obtain. Bold statement? Perhaps. But as you’ll find, with your small membership fee will come a literal world of resources, information, and friends with whom to network. You’ll establish professional relationships and bonds that will extend beyond the years you dedicate to planning.

You will add value to your organization by becoming a Certified Law Enforcement Planner or Advanced Certified Planner. You may also attend our week long Planner’s Course which is offered at least twice a year at various locations around the country. Your Chief or Sheriff would love to see his Planners bring home the Annual Planner or Project of the Year Award, I can assure you.

Our membership is nearly 1000 strong, with planners who work in organizations all over the world. The benefits of the shared experiences of all of us make IALEP membership a “Must Have” in the LE Planner’s arsenal. IALEP serves as a forum to share ideas, policy, best practices, staffing formulas, innovations, and solutions to common problems confronting criminal justice professionals every day.

By attending our annual training conference each fall, you’ll have direct access to some of the best cutting edge speakers, analysts, and technology in our field. This conference is an intense one week barrage of timely topical area training related to the challenges faced each day at your organization. Please plan to attend this year’s conference in Ft. Worth, Texas, September 18-23, 2005.

You can find more information about this conference and our organization on our web site, or by contacting any of our board members.

Again, I welcome you and hope you’ll maximize your membership by becoming active in our organization. Host a conference, lead a committee, or become a board member. We need you!

Sincerely,

Marty Legé
IALEP President
